The carefully chosen hams will include two French hams; Jambon de Paris, a delicately spiced and lean cooked ham and Jambon de Bayonne, a sweet tasting air-dried ham from southwest France with Protected Designation of Origin status. Diners can discover flavoursome hams from Spain; Jamon Ibérico de Bellota and Jamon Pata Negra which are cured from two to four years and are regarded as two of the world’s finest hams.
Produced across Spain, especially in the southwest regions, the hams are made from free range pigs that wander freely among oak forests feeding on acorns which give the meat its exquisite flavour.
Other highlights on the special cold cuts menu will include Prosciutto di San Daniele, a prized Italian ham produced only in the hilly Friuli Venezia Giulia region around the town of San Daniele. There will also be Black Forest ham from Germany, succulent Ardennes ham from Belgium and ham produced using the rare breed Mangalica pigs from Hungary.
