Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok today announces that the award-winning modern Italian restaurant Scalini is launching a dining promotion ‘Seafood in the city’ with imported and local produce that meets the hotel’s strict criteria on sustainable fishing and farming methods.
Lobster from Maine features highly on the new menu with dishes such as lobster bisque flamed with VSOP Cognac; whole lobster cooked to order in a variety of ways such as poached and grilled, and warm lobster carpaccio with burrata cheese and caviar.
The chilled seafood bucket, designed for tables of two guests and more, includes Fines de Claire oysters, mussels, clams and jumbo white prawns. Buckets for two guests are priced at THB 2,000++. The grilled mixed seafood platter, priced at THB 2,800++ for two persons, combines the finest local and important produce such as American lobster, prawns, oysters, mussels and clams.
‘The Hilton commitment to sustainable tourism is well known throughout the world. This commitment embraces the use of sustainable and eco-friendly methods in the catching and harvesting of seafood and shellfish. The new mouth-watering menu at Scalini is a magnificent example of how restaurants may present the most amazing dishes without causing long-lasting and irreversible damage to our rivers and oceans.’ said Ian Barrow, General Manager of Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok.
This new ‘Seafood in the city’ season includes a weekly ‘TGSF or Thank God, It’s Seafood Friday’ feast on every Friday evening where fresh produce is available to order in a market-style environment and priced by weight or per item. Guests can select from American lobster, Fines De Claire oysters, Bouchot mussels, Manila clams, Thai blue swimming crab, giant tiger prawns and slipper lobsters and the talented chefs will prepare guests choices just the way they prefer.
