Continuing its strong commitment to the community and to sustainable living, this time, Meliá Bali supports the program of Subak Irrigation for Organic Rice Field in Pengembungan, Tegaljadi, Marga, Tabanan Regency. The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program was marked through an official inauguration event which was held on last Friday, August 23rd 2019, in collaboration with Tri Hita Karana Foundation Bali
Subak, or famously known as Bali’s cultural landscape for irrigation system, reflects the philosophical concept of Tri Hita Karana—which brings together the realms of God, human and nature. Therefore, the program, at the same time, is expected to invite more people to return to nature through many activities that can be done around Subak.
Anyone can while farming, fishing, or even playing kites while breathing in clean air that soothes the body and soul.
General Manager of Meliá Bali, Eduardo Perera Castro himself was in presence to officiate the program along with the Chairman of Tri Hita Karana Foundation Bali, Ir. IGN. Wisnu Wardana and representatives from the local village, as well as representatives from Udayana University and University of Warmadewa.
Meliá Bali in almost over 20 years has been actively involved in many sustainable CSR programs including supporting from teachers of Bali tourism school to taxi drivers and local beach hawkers, distributing scholarships, renovating houses and school buildings, giving HIV-AIDS counseling for schools, villages and youth communities around the hotel.
